About the event

LIPBONE REDDING, “Traveling the world, making friends and music” -  Presented by the Catawba Valley Festival of the Arts

Join us as we bask in the charm, wit and talent of Lipbone Redding! His evening-length show is all about stories transformed into relateable songs of life! The songs become woven into a dynamic tapestry of storytelling, words and music. Lipbone's music, like a magic carpet, invites you to ride along!

Lipbone’s unique talent and life have allowed him access to some amazing experiences, from subway musician to court jester of the elite. Allow him to regale you with entertaining insight and a dancing good time, as only this one-man orchestra can proffer.  Lipbone embodies a cosmic dance as he plays, sings, taps, and makes realistic instrument sounds with nothing more than his lips. It is truly an evening worthy of your attendance.

Lipbone is a one-man orchestra and award-winning collaborator, who makes stories into songs, and songs into birds that take flight and rest in the soul. In his early years, he left his home of North Carolina to live in New York City, where he busked nightly for three years in the Uptown 6 train subway station in SoHo. The experience of New York has led him to many accolades and adventures.  His music is groove-inspired, unique and heartfelt; a rootsy, soulful joy that can move a crowd to dancing with just a microphone and a guitar. He is a master at rousing a room into howls and unbridled sing-alongs. His songs are peppered with vocal trombones and throat-singing crickets, fantastic animals and a host of poignant characters. Lipbone engages the audience as if they are additional band members, and invites them to employ their voices, claps and dance moves for the greater good. Whenever he is not adventuring, Lipbone enjoys his status as artist-in-residence at Oak Grove Retreat in Tarboro, North Carolina, where he co-hosts festivals, retreats, and regular live events.

We are so pleased Lipbone's concert coincides with ZenFest 2024! -- and more!  Lipbone regularly makes music for deep guided meditations, yoga, and wellness, and is an avid supporter of healing with sound, cultivating a loving heart, and a positive mind.  You are invited to join Lipbone Sunday September 29th at 10:30 am at Catawba Farms for a special donation-based Yoga event!
